I was listening to lots of REM while writing this song. REM were great! I would like this song to sound like something from Automatic For The People, with nice acoustic guitars and lovely backing vocals and harmonies. Even strings. I like the finger-picked guitar on this song. It has a nice melody but I cannot play it properly which is why it sounds balls and out of time and stuff. It should be played better and on a plucky clear electric guitar. The bass would need to be prominent to hear the chord changes, but also melodic and movey. The backing vocals at the end could be REALLY nice if I spent a bit of time working them out, and I would extend the outro by quite a lot.

There is a line in this song about seeing a Maris Piper in the face of Jesus. When I was a child we had the Daily Mail and it seemed like every year or two there would be a story about how someone saw the face of Jesus in a potato or a piece of wood or other random stuff, and I always thought, "why do people never see potatoes in the face of Jesus? Why is it always the other way around?" I am glad that I have finally managed to get this thought in to a song. This is weirdly my favourite song now on Vertical Learning Curve. I do not know why! The Daily Mail was shit.
