I like the opening line to this song: "The sad last stand of a one man band, Who brings a French Horn to a gunfight?" Come on guys, there cannot be that many pop songs that mention French Horns can there? On the other hand, the rest of the lyrics, most of which I also like, do not really totally fit in thematically with that opening line, and I am lying to myself if I pretend they do.* The line "hot shots and kwikfits" is meant to be something else. but I dare not sing it out loud so I have put in SFW rhymes. Have fun working them out.
This is a hard song to get right because the finger-picked guitar line is quite movey and melodic and gets about, but the lyrics are also quite wordy and there are alot of them and it is hard to make them fit together and tbh I have not tried that hard because IT IS JUST A DEMO. There are two ways this song could go. The first is straight forward jjoyous pop-rock (like Shes Electric or something) with the finger-picked melody played on a blazing electric guitar, and the other way is floaty organy wobbly acousto-pop (like She is Love or Songird).** I would probably go for thundering popsong because this album is already quite acousticy, or would be if it was a real album, and needs more easy pop on it.
*(I am lying to myself)
**Yeah okay I have been listening to lots of Oasis recently, even Heathen Chemistry.
