All good things come in second waves and CTA demos are no different. I meant to record things over Christmas but just couldn't find the time, but here is a new song for your earal consumption. In Autumn I looked up how to play MIngulay Boat Song by Richard Thompson and had to retune my guitar to open C. I started messing about with chord shapes and ended up writing about 8 songs in open C. It is a lovely tuning! I used it once before but never wrote anything in it, but this time it seemed to really strike, er, a chord.
Here is the first one I wrote called Super Slowmotion. The face-in-a-cup oohs over the mid are far too loud but I couldn't change the volume because they are on the same track as the vocal. I would have added a bit more on this backing-vocal wise but my micro Boss keeps saying Drive Busy! again. If I was a real boy, instead of just made out of wood, then this would be a louder, faster song with all the instruments instead of just acoustic. I tried to give it a feeling of tempo with the double tracked guitars. See what you think! I repeat one Chorus because I wasn't happy with another one I wrote and would probably change a few of the lyrics if I had the chance again.
